About the event

In this workshop, local writers TJ Butler (Dating Silky Maxwell, ELJ Editions 2023) and Rebecca Morrison will join local educator Suzette Romero to discuss the ways readers, writers, and those interested in writing can tackle difficult subjects. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A and book signing.

Attendees will learn about the following:

-Reasons to write about difficult topics-What we choose to tell and what we leave out -How to write about others, and when not to -Finding your voice by experimenting with different genres (poetry, fiction, personal essays, and journaling) -Taking care of ourselves as we delve into difficult subject matters
